Information Exchange Capabilities Crucial to Business
Note out this article from McKnight’s Long-Term Care News, “78% of nursing home referral partners would switch allegiances for this key offering,” in which MatrixCare CEO and President Steve Pacicco and I discuss the state of data sharing among providers.
A recent survey commissioned by MatrixCare, a LeadingAge Gold Partner with CAST Focus, found that only 14% of acute-care providers were satisfied with their skilled nursing facility providers’ current ability to receive electronic referrals. While only 12% of nursing home referrals are currently sent through electronic data feeds, 94% of acute-care providers say that ability is a top factor in where they send discharged patients.
Emergency Broadband Benefit Helps Older Adults Afford Internet
As you know, internet service for older adults is now more important than ever, and the Federal Communications Commission has just provided the Emergency Broadband Benefit. This subsidy will help eligible households pay for internet service and computers/devices. The Broadband Justice Act of 2021 has also been introduced, to expand affordable broadband access to millions of families living in federally subsidized housing.
