Who Should Attend

The summit unites multiple players. It brings long-term and post-acute care (LTPAC) providers together with acute care providers, payers, health IT vendors, health information exchange intermediaries, consultants, system integrators, and solution providers.

Mark McClellan, M.D., Ph.D. to Deliver Keynote

Mark McClellan will deliver a keynote, titled “Responding to the Pandemic: Lessons Learned and implications for Technology.”
Mark McClellan, M.D., Ph.D., is the Robert J. Margolis Professor of Business, Medicine, and Policy, and founding director of the Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy at Duke University. McClellan is a former administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and former commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, where he developed and implemented major reforms in health policy. He has also served as a senior fellow in economic studies at the Brookings Institution, where he was director of the Health Care Innovation and Value Initiatives and led the Richard Merkin Initiative on Payment Reform and Clinical Leadership.
McClellan will present on the coordination of efforts across government agencies to control the spread of COVID-19 throughout the recent health emergency, including what worked and what lessons were learned. He will discuss the role technology played, or could have better played, in containing and managing the virus and in coordinating efforts. The keynote will explore how these efforts have evolved with the change of administration and how they may further evolve as we deal with changing dynamics on the ground.

Majd Alwan, Ph.D., CAST executive director and senior vice president of technology and business strategy for LeadingAge, will moderate the discussion. The keynote will take place on Wednesday, June 9, at 11:15 a.m.
