It all started with a bake sale ...

In the late 1960s, a group of ladies in a sewing circle discussed ways to raise money, "because we need a good care center in West Liberty."

During a bake sale at the annual Labor Day Festival, they raised $2,232 which was placed in a savings account as the first concrete step toward realizing this dream.
