The Administration on Community Living (ACL) released notice of new funding for the Alzheimer’s Disease Programs Initiative (ADPI), State and Territory Programs for Dementia-Specific Respite. The announcement claims, “Cooperative agreements under this grant will expand supports for family caregivers by delivering dementia-specific respite services through the aging services network, including state units on aging, area agencies on aging, and other network providers.”
This grant is a subset of the broader attention to dementia-specific respite care under the auspices of the Older Americans Act. Applications are due August 3, 2026, with eligible entities being limited to state governments. Providers could use this opportunity to advocate with their state to apply for this grant and increase access to dementia specific respite programs in their state.
