The One Health Record^® system was created as Alabama’s health information exchange (HIE) through a federal grant awarded to the state in 2009. Under the guidance of the Alabama Health Information Commission, One Health Record^® has emerged as an interoperable, two-way data exchange system between providers, hospitals and others within Alabama and in other states.
