If your nonprofit is using cloud technology or generative artificial intelligence (AI) to accelerate your mission, consider applying for a 2024 Amazon Web Services (AWS) IMAGINE Grant.
The grant program seeks to empower nonprofits to prioritize technology as a mission-critical component of their projects. As part of the program, AWS is seeking proposals for pilot projects, proofs of concept, or existing programs that utilize technology in a new or expanded way.
This public grant provides up to $200,000 unrestricted cash funding, up to $100,000 AWS Promotional Credit, and technical support. Applications are due by June 3, 2024.
Grants
The AWS IMAGINE Grant offers three award levels.
Pathfinder — Generative AI Award: This award will provide support for a highly innovative, mission-critical project that leverages generative AI. The project will have the potential to produce a scaled, repeatable solution that directly accelerates mission achievement and may impact an entire industry or field.
The award package includes the following:
- Up to $200,000 USD of unrestricted financial support
- Up to $100,000 USD in AWS Promotional Credit
- Project implementation support from the AWS Generative AI Innovation Center
Go Further, Faster Award: This award will provide support for highly innovative projects that leverage the cloud. These projects will have the potential to produce scaled, repeatable solutions and may impact an entire industry or field.
The award package includes the following:
- Up to $150,000 USD of unrestricted financial support
- Up to $100,000 USD in AWS Promotional Credit
- Project implementation guidance from AWS technical specialist(s)
Momentum to Modernize Award: This award will provide funding for transformational infrastructure projects, As nonprofit organizations seek to transform and enhance their core mission operations with technology, many organizations need funding for foundational technology projects, such as migrating servers to the cloud and modernizing new and existing applications.
The award package includes the following:
- Up to $50,000 USD of unrestricted financial support
- Up to $20,000 USD in AWS Promotional Credit
- Project implementation guidance from AWS technical specialist(s)
In addition, all award levels receive the following:
- Access to AWS training and support
- An opportunity for AWS marketing promotion
Award Criteria
AWS will judge proposals based on factors that include the following:
- Innovative and unique nature of the project
- Impact on mission-critical goals
- Clearly defined outcomes
- Detailing and applicability of AWS services within the project scope
- Comprehensiveness of applicant’s proposal and information requested
- Submission of proposal in correct format and within the deadline
How to Apply
Applications close on June 3, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Round two will be by invitation only, and AWS will notify organizations of their status via email by July 17, 2024.
