Since February 26, we have heard from members experiencing difficulty logging into the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) system, preventing them from completing weekly reporting. The system had been taken offline for upgrades February 23-25, and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced suspension of enforcement for the weekly reporting requirements for reporting week ending February 25.
LeadingAge notified CMS about members’ login difficulties after the upgrades, and requested an extension of enforcement discretion. CMS has agreed to suspend enforcement for the reporting week ending March 3.
