Continuing the Administration’s initiative to increase nursing home ownership and operatorship transparency, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released additional information on June 28. Shared owner and operatorship is now denoted on individual nursing home pages on Care Compare, listed as “affiliated entities” with a link to the new Nursing Home Affiliated Entity Performance Measures dataset.

The dataset provides aggregate information about the shared entities including ownership type, number of Special Focus Facilities and Special Focus Facility candidates, average overall ratings on the Five Star Quality Rating System, average rating in each of the Five Star domains, and more. CMS is seeking feedback on this new project.
