In March, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) published a new example Notice of Election (NOE) statement for hospices. Notably, CMS has added a section on the statement to include the name and contact information for the local Beneficiary and Family-Centered Care Quality Organization (BFCC-QIO).

In LeadingAge conversations with members, several noted audits and claims rejections were common based on the NOE lacking the BFCC-QIO’s information. Hospice members are encouraged to update their NOEs to reflect the new example from CMS.
