The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released a Request for Information on April 11 in response to the White House’s January 31, 2025 Executive Order 14192 “Unleashing Prosperity Through Deregulation” which states that for every one new regulation released, agencies should identify at least ten prior regulations to be eliminated.
To assist in identifying potential regulations or regulatory actions for elimination, CMS sought suggestions for regulations that could be streamlined to reduce administrative burden, identification of regulations that duplicated other regulations either at the federal level or state level, and opportunities to reduce reporting and documentation administrative burdens.
