The LTPAC Health IT Collaborative, of which LeadingAge serves as a member, sent a December 3 letter to Congressional leaders calling on lawmakers to extend Medicare telehealth pandemic policies for another two years before they expire on December 31, 2024. Extending these policies will alleviate workforce shortages and broaden the reach of clinicians and providers across the long-term care continuum. Most importantly, extending these policies will improve patients’ and residents’ access to the care they need, particularly in rural and underserved areas. LeadingAge will continue to engage with Congress and work with coalition partners to advocate for an extension of these important telehealth flexibilities.
