Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a letter to state health officials on June 27, informing states that Medicaid programs, in accordance with the Inflation Reduction Act, will be required to cover vaccines approved by the FDA and administered in accordance with recommendations from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). The coverage requirement takes effect on October 1 and will cover almost all full benefit Medicaid or CHIP enrollees over the age of 19.
