The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced Donald Billingsley as the new Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary for Multifamily Housing on July 6. Billingsley’s most recent role was vice president at Grandbridge Real Estate Capital, a subsidiary of Truist Bank, where he was responsible for originating nationwide mortgages for multifamily and commercial properties. He previously served as HUD’s multifamily regional director for the southeast region, managing FHA Multifamily Insurance, Project Based Rental Assistance, and the Section 202/811 Capital Advance programs in southeastern states and Caribbean territories.
Billingsley also spent several years in Multifamily Production at HUD headquarters, served as an analyst with the Federal Home Loan Bank’s affordable housing programs, and spent 15 years developing and managing Low Income Housing Tax Credit developments. He is also a U.S. Navy combat veteran.
