In a letter to the Department of Education regarding the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, LeadingAge, whose nonprofit and mission-driven members rely on the program for recruiting and retaining skilled and compassionate employees, asserts that the DEO does not have the authority to revise the regulatory definition of a qualifying employer in a way that would exclude certain 501(c)(3)
organizations based on the categories they fall into or the missions they pursue.
