On January 1, 2022, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) opened the Provider Relief Fund (PRF) reporting portal for providers to begin entering data to submit their second period PRF reports. Providers who receive more than $10,000 in PRF payments in a given payment received period are required to report how those funds were used. Second period PRF reports will cover PRF payments received July 1 – December 31, 2020, which include Phase 2 and Phase 3 general distributions and Nursing Home Infection control distributions and incentive payments. The deadline to submit the second period report is March 31, 2022.

HRSA has added a number of new resources to the PRF reporting website specific to the second reporting period. We anticipate additional resources to be added specific to the unique aspects of reporting on the Nursing Home Infection Control PRF payments received.

PRF Portal Registration Manual has been updated with new information as of December 30, 2021 and provides details about what information is sought for each entry in the report.

HRSA webinars

Registration for HRSA’s January 12 , 3-4p ET webinar for those new to PRF reporting

– This webinar would be most appropriate for assisted living providers, private pay nursing homes, and Medicaid providers such as those providing home and community-based services
Registration for HRSA’s January 13 3-4p ET webinar for returning reporters.

– This is an opportunity for providers to hear about new features of the portal and what is new with reporting period 2.
LeadingAge is working with HRSA to offer a webinar on Nursing Home Infection Control (NHIC) reporting. We will share a date as soon as it is confirmed. HRSA is also developing some specific resources to address the unique reporting requirements for these NHIC funds.

For nursing homes, this will be the first report where they are required to report on the infection control expenses they covered with the Nursing Home Infection Control distributions and related quality incentive payments. Members should take their time and review the newly available resources prior to beginning their report.
