CMS has developed guidance for nursing homes on routine staff testing for COVID-19. The guidelines include testing staff on a certain frequency based on the COVID-19 positivity rate for the county the nursing home resides in. The methodology used to determine frequency is here . Some states, however, have developed stringent guidelines for testing both staff and residents.
