LeadingAge submitted written testimony to the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee’s Subcommittee on Health in response to the March 11 hearing, “After the Hospital: Ensuring Access to Quality Post-Acute Care.” The letter outlines urgent challenges nonprofit providers face in delivering post-acute care—especially under Medicare Advantage—and calls for legislative action to ensure payment adequacy, reduce administrative burdens, and protect access to care for older adults. 

LeadingAge also submitted a joint statement on the issue of a Unified Post-acute Care Prospective Payment system that was raised as a possible cost savings in the hearing.
