PointClickCare Exec Discusses His Leadership Style
Murry Mercier, General Manager of Senior Living at PointClickCare, was featured in a question-and-answer session with Skilled Nursing News. PointClickCare is a LeadingAge Gold Partner with CAST Focus.
The Priorities, Plans & Perspectives interview explores Mercier’s leadership style. Mercier noted that he carries out his priorities by starting with a North Star to establish the endgame of the planned efforts. “Next, I look for the largest stepping stones in the form of objectives and key results to keep efforts aligned with that North Star. Then, from there, my tasks are formulated to create a tactical roadmap. The goal of my approach is to create a roadmap, allowing the ability to zoom in and out with as few points of disconnect as possible.”
Mercier’s current top priorities are understanding their customers, speaking customers’ language, and simplifying the steps that enable success.

iN2L Writes Guest Column on Next-Generation Senior Living
In a recent guest column in McKnight’s Senior Living, iN2L CEO Lisa Taylor provided ideas to address the 230% increase in feelings of loneliness that residents experienced during last year’s lockdown. In “Next-generation senior living, powered by technology,” she noted the importance of resilience to long-term wellness and longevity and offered the following tips:
- Leverage digital life to enrich daily life, both inside the community and out.
- Personalize your engagement technology to help create a sense of purpose.
- Empower staff with technology to build a resilient workforce.
Taylor noted that “communities that focus on deeper resident engagement, well-being and personal happiness have been shown to see directly correlated increases in profitability.” She referenced one sample that showed that communities with higher resident engagement scores saw, on average, an increase of $224,000 in EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization). iN2L is a LeadingAge Bronze Partner with CAST Focus.
CarePredict Receives Argentum 2021 Best of Best Awards
PinPoint from CarePredict, a leading AI-powered digital health platform for senior care and a 2021 Associate Business Partner with CAST Focus, was selected as the Argentum 2021 Best of the Best Award winner. PinPoint is the first commercially available digital contact tracing tool that prevents the spread of COVID-19 in high-risk, high-density areas such as senior living facilities and nursing homes, according to WFMZ-TV.
PinPoint delivers accurate, instantaneous results on all of the contacts an infected person had. It classifies the contacts as high or low risk, which enables staff to test and isolate only people at high risk, minimizing the adverse impact of facility-wide lockdowns and social isolation.
PinPoint also captures location, paths and dwell time in areas visited by a suspected carrier within the facility to support effective disinfection measures.
The Argentum Best of the Best Awards recognizes innovative new programs and services that are working to improve the future of senior living.
