Workforce Solutions & 2020 Predictions
The new year brings 2020 tech predictions and CES innovations, workforce solutions, grant funding for technology to improve care transitions, and a new accelerator for caregiving solutions. Let’s get started!
It’s Time for Tech
A recent McKnight’s Senior Living article discussed the growing attraction of technology in assisted living and non-skilled long-term care facilities. I was quoted, along with Travis Palmquist, vice president and general manager for PointClickCare, a LeadingAge Gold Partner with CAST Focus; Fahad Aziz, cofounder and chief technology officer of LeadingAge CAST Supporter Caremerge; and Mike Webster, CPP, director of senior living, fall management and security solutions for CAST Business Associate STANLEY Healthcare. Experts note there is plenty of room to do more–not only for providers to test technology in real-life situations, but also to progress past pilots into full implementations.
KARE Matches Communities with Temporary Workers
On that note, if you are struggling to find temporary caregivers, medication aides, and nurses, check out a new free app. KARE says it is the first labor marketplace dedicated solely to the senior housing and post-acute industry.
3 Executives Name Their Best Workforce Technology
An associate communication app, an AI-based falls prevention tool, and a payroll and human resources planning tool are named workforce technology solutions by organizations of different sizes.
CES Presents Today’s Health Tech
Check out the very latest healthcare technologies that could one day be in your facility. CES 2020 featured advancements in robotics, voice technology, monitoring, virtual reality, and more.
2020 Brings More Tech in Senior Living
Senior living predictions for the new decade mention smart technology as a senior living design trend and herald a disruption in senior living, likely from a startup with strong funding and an innovative model.
AHRQ Offers Grants to Improve Care Transitions
Up to $2 million in grant funding is available from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) to test technology solutions that improve communication and care coordination during care transitions.
New Accelerator Speeds Caregiving Solutions
If you are working with a startup to create innovative caregiving solutions for older adults, consider applying for the new Techstars Future of Longevity Accelerator. Startups accepted for this 10-week program will learn from an entrepreneurs’ network and Gates incubator.
