All of us at LeadingAge believe that leadership is critical to the future of aging services. That’s why we’re proud to offer a broad range of best-in-class national leadership programs. It’s also why we’re always thrilled when our members show that they too believe in the power of great leaders to make an impact on the lives of older adults by supporting the LeadingAge Leadership Development Fund.
We asked our colleagues and members to shed more light into why they make donations. Here’s what they told us:
- “We need strong and diverse leadership in aging services. I give because I believe supporting the development of our future leaders is a shared responsibility. I have faith in LeadingAge’s ability to direct my donations in the ways that will best help our field.” Tom Akins, LeadingAge North Carolina president and CEO
- “I enthusiastically give because I experienced first-hand the incredible value–both personally and professionally–of the Larry Minnix Leadership Academy. With an open heart and open eyes, I am a proud supporter of the LeadingAge Leadership Development Fund!” Julie Koch, Senior Director, LeadingAge Membership Recruitment and State and Member Relations
- “For the past seven years, I have had the opportunity to grow as a leader through LeadingAge programs, especially the Leadership Academy. The level of expertise and knowledge shared among this community is an asset to the entire sector of aging services. I give to help ensure leadership development opportunities like this continue to be available to everyone.” Erica Thrash-Sall, Executive Director, McFarlan Charitable Corporation
- “LeadingAge has supported me through many key turning points in my professional and personal life, and it’s an honor, a joy, a deep expression of gratitude to give.” Dee Pekruhn, LeadingAge Director of Life Plan Communities Services & Policy
- “I give because engaging with the Leadership Academy alumni and staff have showed me how meaningful the programs are to them, and it felt right to give others the opportunity to participate.” Nathan Sheffer, LeadingAge Manager of Marketing and Engagement
- “Aging services is growing and thriving as our population ages; more leaders are needed. The Academy and other LeadingAge development programs are tremendous assets for the sector – for now and for the future.” Lisa Sanders, LeadingAge Senior Director of Media Relations and Editorial
