The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) created a webpage to help hospices update their demographic information on the Care Compare website. The new resources walk hospices through how to verify and update their demographic information (address, phone number, and ownership status) to ensure accuracy.
With the new five-star ratings for hospice being sharing publicly, now is an essential time to update this information. Additionally, LeadingAge has noted provider ownership status is often incorrect, which can lead to issues with comparisons between nonprofit and for-profit agencies.
CMS has said updates can take up to six months to be reflected on Care Compare.
