The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is completing the final COVID-19 Supplemental Payments (CSPs) in waves this fall. LeadingAge worked to secure the COVID relief funds from Congress, and also worked with HUD to distribute them for the widest possible scope of eligible uses. In recent years, HUD-assisted multifamily housing providers were able to request reimbursements from HUD for COVID-related expenses at properties, including the cost of certain capital expenses to help housing communities prepare for, or respond to, the pandemic.
HUD opened the final round of CSP payment requests earlier this year; once completed, capital projects need to be verified via DocuSign by the project owner and sent to HUD to receive reimbursement. HUD made one wave of CSP capital project payments at the end of July; another payment wave is expected at the end of October, and a final payment wave is expected in December.
If a property is seeking verification of funding status, they can email the servicing field office or CSPpayments@hud.gov.
