Providers who received Provider Relief Fund (PRF) or American Rescue Plan (ARP) rural payments between January 1 and June 30, 2023, have until June 30, 2024, to incur related expenses for preventing, preparing for, and responding to COVID-19. Providers may also apply PRF/ARP rural dollars received during this time to lost revenues incurred from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2023.
Reporting period 7 begins on July 1 for these funds and their use for COVID-related expenses and lost revenues. It remains open to complete the reporting until September 30, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ET and are to be submitted through the PRF reporting portal.
Providers reporting for the first time will need to register. Providers who have not reported on PRF for some time are encouraged to reacquaint themselves with the PRF Reporting Portal User Guide on reporting as some uses of the funds have changed since 2023.
The Health Resources and Services Administration PRF website has a number of resources related to eligible expenses and lost revenue calculations and FAQs to assist providers in preparing the contents of their reports.
The PRF Provider Support Line (866-569-3522) remains available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. CT to answer reporting and other PRF/ARP rural questions. If you have had a change in personnel responsible for reporting since your last submission or your account has been deactivated for some reason, now would be a good time to initiate updates to this information. See Section 2.1 of the PRF reporting portal user’s guide for more information if these situations apply.
HRSA reports that the portal will be down from 9 p.m. ET on June 28 until 9 a.m. ET on July 1 for maintenance. As always, we recommend starting early on these reports as they often take longer than you think to complete.
