Lifespace Communities Partners with Candoo Tech on Resident Tech Support and Training
Lifespace Communities, a LeadingAge CAST Patron and one of the nation’s 10 largest nonprofit senior living communities, has expanded its partnership with Candoo Tech. The partnership will provide technology support, education and training to all independent living residents across Lifespace’s 17 communities. Services include unlimited remote one-to-one tech training and support, group lessons and a library of on-demand content.
Lifespace began offering Candoo’s services as a pilot in 2022 at two communities: Querencia at Barton Creek in Austin, Texas, and Newcastle Place in Mequon, Wisconsin. The pilots went exceptionally well, said a company statement, and Lifespace is expanding the Candoo Tech services across the rest of the portfolio within the upcoming months.
The news also appeared in McKnight’s Senior Living in “Tech-savvy seniors? Lifespace Communities residents ‘Candoo’ it.” The article cites Candoo surveys claiming that 70% of training participants say their ability to use technology improved.
CarePredict Announces $29M Investment
CAST Associate Business Partner CarePredict has announced a $29M Series A-3 investment co-led by SV Health Investors’ Medtech Convergence Fund and Aspire Healthtech Partners.
CarePredict’s innovative technology autonomously identifies changes in daily activity and behaviors that precede health issues such as urinary tract infections, falls, malnutrition and depression. The ability to detect the early signs of health concerns allows preventive care and preserves the overall wellbeing of older adults. Peer-reviewed and published studies have shown that CarePredict reduces hospitalizations by 39%, falls by 69% and increases the length of stay in a lower care setting by 67%.
The investment was co-led by SV Health Investors’ Medtech Convergence Fund and Aspire Healthtech Partners. Existing institutional investors Secocha Ventures and Las Olas Venture Capital participated, along with family offices and individual investors.
The funds will be used to accelerate the company’s growth, according to mobihealthnews. Refresh Miami also reported the news.
iN2L + LifeLoop and Brookdale Senior Living Collaborate on Tech for Dementia Care
CAST Associate Business Partner iN2L + LifeLoop has collaborated with Brookdale Senior Living, America’s largest senior living provider, to create new digital features that are designed to support residents of Brookdale’s Alzheimer’s and dementia care communities.
Together, the two organizations designed engaging digital features meant to nurture relationships, spark joy, and support their residents’ and families’ camaraderie, social connection, resilience, and optimistic outlook.
Partnering with iN2L + LifeLoop, Brookdale’s dementia care experts identified the need for a new set of connection-oriented features that would invite family members into residents’ daily experiences, as well as support staff during intake and engagement planning. Participating Brookdale residents and families can now experience a direct interface with one another, complete with photos, interests, and favorite activities. The interface has been designed specifically for accessibility, with bright colors, large fonts, helpful update notifications, and prominent buttons. PR Newswire carried the news.
