HUD Announces $15M in Home Modification Awards
Through the Older Adult Home Modification Program (OAHMP), Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded 13 organizations nearly $15 million on April 26 to help older adults age in their community. “By providing a pathway for more older adults to stay in their homes, we are helping to improve lives and ensuring the opportunity for seniors to age with dignity,” HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge said in a statement. See a list of the award descriptions here.
After successful LeadingAge advocacy in HUD’s FY23 spending bill, future OAHMP grants will also help older adult renters age in the community. Older adult homeowners had been the only eligible recipients since the program’s inception in 2019.
Nonprofit organizations, and others, are eligible to receive these HUD awards.
