New Venture Helps Senior Living Deliver Value-Based Care
As alternative payment models continue to be a focus for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, a private partnership is advancing value-based care for senior living. A new Value Based Care Alliance will offer the infrastructure and tools that senior living providers need to improve on-site care for residents and advance value-based care in their communities.
The alliance is born of a partnership between Curana Health, which provides high-quality clinical care through value-based programs that benefit residents and senior living organizations, and Serviam, a movement of senior living operators transforming the way America cares for seniors.
The partnership offers a forward-thinking approach. “The value-based care health model will help seniors maintain the highest possible level of wellness, instead of waiting until they get sick to provide care, which is often more complex and expensive,” said Tim Donnelly, CEO of Serviam Care Network, in a press release.
The Alliance’s goal is to offer benefits like artificial intelligence fall detection technology and care coordination that lead to resident retention, provider incentives, and greater occupancy, Donnelly told McKnight’s Senior Living for an article on the new venture.
About the Partners
Curana Health enables senior living communities to improve patient care and generate new revenue streams, with a focus on prevention and care coordination. Embedded clinicians help communities provide a consistent model of care to all residents, improve census, and give residents personalized care that yields high-quality outcomes. Curana Health offers value-based care programs through Medicare Advantage health plans and an accountable care organization. With a presence in 26 states, Curana Health partners with well over 1,000 senior living communities.
The Serviam Care Network is a Public Benefit Corporation and a coalition of 20 senior living operators across 40 states, in more than 600 communities, who want to do things differently. Coalition members inform the network and the technology that comes from it, including customer relationship management, an applicant tracking system, and lead and applicant management services.
