Phase 4 & ARP Rural Payments to Arrive Starting in December
In related news, U.S. Reps. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA), Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH), Cindy Axne (D-IA) and Mariannette Miller- Meeks (R-IA) introduced a bipartisan bill entitled the Provider Relief Fund Improvement Act. If passed, the legislation would extend the deadline for providers to spend the Provider Relief Fund dollars they have received until the end of the public health emergency, require HHS to restore any returned PRF dollars to the original recipient, require all PRF funds appropriated by Congress to be distributed by March 31, 2022; and expand the uses of PRF funds to include investments in in workplace and safety provisions for staff. Of note, the bill does not appropriate any additional funds to the PRF account for future allocations.
Finally, members are reminded if they received PRF dollars prior to June 30, 2020 that they must submit their first PRF report to HRSA by 11:59 p.m. on November 30.
