The LTPAC Health IT Collaborative, of which LeadingAge is a member, submitted a comment letter on March 7, 2025, in response to a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights proposal to update HIPAA security rule standards for protection of electronic health information. The letter emphasizes administrative and financial burdens the proposal would impose and recommends an approach that better aligns requirements with the risk profile of the HIPAA regulated entities.
