In her latest blog, Robyn Stone outlines five lessons she’s learned about designing research so that positive findings will lead to sustainable change.
Stone, co-director of the LeadingAge LTSS Center @UMass Boston, learned those lessons while her research team was preparing to evaluate a pilot project designed to bolster the home care profession in Richmond, VA. During the pilot, two home care agencies will increase compensation, offer transportation subsidies, and provide high-quality training and career advancement to professional caregivers while also improving their own capacity to track data and measure outcomes. The LTSS Center will evaluate the intervention and its impact on care providers.
Stone maintains that the five lessons she learned in Richmond can be applied to the process of designing any new program in any aging services organizations.
