This year was a great year for Aging Services Technologies. Below is a recap of some CAST highlights from 2023. If you have not yet tapped these resources, please do so. We hope that they will make your technology initiatives more efficient and cost-effective moving into the new year.
Digital Transformation in Aging Services
CAST began 2023 with a significant emphasis on digital transformation, to connect CAST members with resources that can significantly benefit their organizations. CAST released a comprehensive paper on digital transformation and a companion case study. These CAST resources can show you how to adopt modern technologies that improve your organization’s efficiency and cost-effectiveness and solve workforce challenges.
Unlocking Workforce Technology Solutions
To help you navigate the wide array of technology options that address diverse workforce needs, we launched another new comprehensive guide in 2023. “Unlocking Workforce Technology Solutions” represents CAST’s commitment to not only enhancing care for seniors, but also supporting the workforce that plays a crucial role in delivering these services.
New Technology Selection Tool for Infection Control
Understanding the critical need for effective infection control in our members’ communities, CAST introduced a new LeadingAge CAST Technology Selection Tool in 2023. The Technology Selection Tools give background on certain technologies, plus online tools to help providers choose the best solution to meet their organization’s needs. This new infection control tool specifically focuses on infection control technology, offering essential resources for providers to enhance care quality and safety.
Updates to Existing Technology Selection Tools
To ensure that you have the most current information and guidance on various technologies, CAST updated all nine existing Technology Selection Tools in 2023. These updates support the ongoing advancement of care quality and operational efficiency.
Educational Sessions on Digital Transformation, Including RPA and AI
To give you the tools to pursue digital transformation, CAST organized several educational sessions in 2023. These sessions focused on various aspects of digital transformation, including the use of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). These sessions provided insights into the practical applications of these technologies, showcased success stories, and shared lessons learned from real-world implementations. These educational efforts can help enhance your understanding and capabilities in using technology to improve care and operational efficiency.
Member Technology Network Meetings
A key initiative in 2023 was to give CAST members a platform to connect, share your initiatives and learnings, and collectively enhance your understanding and use of technology in aging services. CAST convened several member technology network meetings, which fostered a community of collaboration and shared knowledge, furthering CAST’s mission of technology-driven improvement in senior care.
As we close 2023, a year marked by steady progress in aging services technologies, we turn our gaze to 2024, hopeful for continued growth and thoughtful innovations that further enhance care and efficiency.
