Steve Maag Retires
Steve Maag, director of residential communities at LeadingAge, recently announced his retirement, effective June 14, 2019.
During his 12 years at LeadingAge, Steve has been the “go-to” expert on all things related to life plan communities and assisted living. He has also been a resource to LeadingAge and its members on a range of legal issues, including fair housing and IRS tax exemptions for life plan communities.
Steve helped to support LeadingAge’s Legal Committee and to establish the In-House Counsel Network. He has also spoken to scores of boards of directors at LeadingAge member organizations about trends in the field of long-term services and supports. Prior to joining LeadingAge, Steve was in private practice in Seattle, working with many LeadingAge members on legal issues.
“Steve has experienced our field from the inside out and the outside in,” says LeadingAge President and CEO Katie Smith Sloan. “There is no question that he has accomplished much in his time with LeadingAge, has taught us all a great deal, and has made a positive difference in our field.”
“We wish Steve endless adventures, happy times with his grandchildren, much luck with his golf game, and all that he hopes for in this next chapter,” added Sloan.
