Your voice is being heard on Capitol Hill today! LeadingAge is hosting a Congressional briefing, Workforce Challenges and Solutions in Aging Services, to give members of Congress and their staff a glimpse of what the workforce shortage really means for aging services providers and the people you serve.
More than 40 members of Congress and staff have registered to attend today’s briefing and hear members including:
- Dorothy Davis, President & CEO, Visiting Nurse Health System from LeadingAge Georgia,
- Brenda Carney, National Service Coordinator Manager, CSI Support and Development from LeadingAge Michigan,
- Lynda Bogdala, Administrator, Brookside Care Center from LeadingAge Wisconsin,
- Rose Policarpio, CEO, United Methodist Healthcare Recruitment (UMHR) from LeadingAge Illinois.
Lawmakers will hear their on-the-ground experiences with the challenges of recruiting and retaining workers—and just how dramatically workforce shortages limit access to aging services for older adults.
The briefing is part of our ongoing Aging Services Workforce Now advocacy campaign. LeadingAge national policy team members will reinforce the sector-wide policy solutions that we need Congress to enact to address the challenges for members around the country.
Thanks to the members participating today—and to all of you who have shared your experiences, contacted your representatives and helped us drive forward solutions that will help our sector now and in the future.
