LeadingAge participated in a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) webinar on the HCBS Settings Final Rule on February 21. CMS representatives reviewed slides outlining opportunities and actions for states regarding the upcoming compliance date of March 17, 2023, with the HCBS Settings Final Rule.

During the question-and-answer portion, Melissa Harris of CMS noted that providers billing Medicaid in states with approved corrective action plans (CAPs) could still be paid for administered services. Additionally, it was noted that 40 of 51 states/jurisdictions either have, or are anticipated to have, approved CAPs.
