ARP Rural Payments Sent & PRF Late Reporting Request Deadline Extended
ARP Rural payments: On Tuesday, May 10, HRSA sent out $450 million in American Rescue Plan (ARP) Rural payments to 2,200 providers. It has now distributed $.7.9B of the $8.5 billion appropriated by Congress to provide relief to rural providers. With this latest distribution, 99% of applications have completed review. Providers who have not yet received a communication about their ARP rural application will receive a notification of its status as soon as HRSA has completed its review and processing. Remember these funds are based upon the volume of Medicaid and Medicare patients who reside in a rural area that a provider serves.
Notices of Status of Reporting Period 1 (RP1) Late Reporting Request: Providers who submitted late reporting requests for RP1 should be notified by HRSA this week about whether their request was approved or denied. This notice will come from this email address: UHG_HRSA@ProviderEmail.uhc.com . Members who submitted a request should check their inboxes, junk mail or spam email for a message from this address. Providers whose requests are approved will only have 10 days from notification to submit their report. RP1 covers PRF funds received between April 10 and June 30, 2020.
Reporting Period 2 (RP2) Late Reporting Request Deadline Extended: Providers who did not get their RP2 reports in by March 31, 2021 due to extenuating circumstances have the opportunity to submit a Late Reporting Request to HRSA by Wednesday, May 18 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Eligible extenuating circumstances include: Severe illness or death of a key staff member responsible for reporting; being impacted by a natural disaster; lack of receipt of reporting communications due to an incorrect email or mailing address; a failure to click “submit” button after completing the report; an internal miscommunication or error about who was to complete the reporting; or failure by a recipient of Targeted PRF distributions to submit a report on those funds.
