OATS from AARP Partners with T-Mobile on Rural Initiative
Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) from AARP is working with T-Mobile to help rural seniors thrive in the digital age. The initiative will leverage Senior Planet from AARP, the OATS flagship program, to provide age-relevant technology training programs to organizations that serve older adults. AARP Foundation is a LeadingAge CAST Patron.
The multi-year sponsorship will give these organizations capacity-building training. It will provide a train-the-trainer model, free Senior Planet programming for older adult participants, and ongoing informational support for partners and participants alike.
OATS will work with 100 community partners who collectively serve over 4,300 older adults throughout Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
