To help aging services providers choose tech solutions, LeadingAge CAST has updated its Functional Assessment and Activity Monitoring Technology Selection Tool.
CAST’s suite of 10 Technology Selection Tools enables providers to learn about various kinds of technologies, then use online matrices and selection tools to identify the solutions that are the best fit for their organization’s needs.
The newly updated Functional Assessment and Activity Monitoring Technology Selection Tool now has updated information for 15 products that are currently available on the market.
It also includes a new product, Momo Medical. The Momo BedSense App provides caregivers insights on, and an overview of, all residents of the memory care community. The app is linked to a bed sensor under the mattress and offers personal alerts for residents who are at risk of falling. With the app, caregivers can work more effectively and ensure a comfortable and safe night for all residents.
A new case study has been added to the tool, to help providers evaluate solutions using real-life examples. “Night Shift Revolution: Elevating Memory Care with the Momo BedSense” tells how LeadingAge CAST Patron United Methodist Communities (UMC) implemented “Momo BedSense” in three of its Tapestries memory care communities.
The implementation yielded these positive outcomes.
- Non-intrusive, real-time monitoring offers residents better sleep quality and overall wellness.
- Reduced need for frequent room checks and a more restful night’s sleep for residents.
- Real-time notifications sent to staff smartphones allow staff to respond promptly and appropriately to residents; for example, staff know when residents begin to stir, meaning residents can wake up naturally.
- Sleep and activity pattern monitoring data enables staff to detect behavioral changes or potential health issues earlier, meaning residents receive proactive health care.
- Historical data enables continuous monitoring and evaluation of interventions and their effectiveness, leading to better outcomes for residents.
- System data offers transparent, evidence-based reporting on sleep and activity patterns that reassures families and fosters trust between families and caregivers.
- Streamlined responsibilities improve staff confidence and job efficacy, enabling staff to focus on meaningful care while enjoying peace of mind.
