On January 30, HUD posted two more materials related to COVID-19 Supplemental Payments, or CSPs, just ahead of a critical deadline for the fifth round of funding.
Funded by HUD for communities subsidized by the agency’s Multifamily Housing programs, CSPs are a mechanism for housing communities to get reimbursed for unbudgeted COVID-related expenses, like extra cleaning supplies, staffing, and PPE. Providers needs to complete or commit to expenses by January 31 in order to request reimbursement from HUD during this round of funding.
Draft CSP Round 5 Request Form
Ahead of the critical expenditure deadline, HUD posted a draft version of the request form. The final form is still pending approval by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), but HUD released the draft in order to give providers a better understanding of what to expect. The draft form includes a payment calculator and other information to make the request process easier for housing providers. The deadline to request reimbursement from HUD is February 21. The draft form is available here.
CSP One-Pager
On January 30, HUD also posted a one-pager with an overview of the CSPs in round 5. The one-pager acts review the basic structure of CSPs, including answers to common questions like “How do I request funds,” and “What’s different for round 5?” HUD’s one-pager is available here.
