A new resource from LeadingAge helps relieve workforce issues that many aging services providers face. Many technology solutions on the market address various aspects of workforce needs, assisting with recruitment, retention and care efficiency. Yet knowing which solution to choose can be challenging.
Unlocking Workforce Technology Solutions is a tool to help providers navigate the breadth of technology options currently available. A related session at the LeadingAge Annual meeting next month in Chicago offers invaluable insight.
How the New Tool Can Help
The new tool orients providers by offering an easy-to-understand map of technology solutions in several categories:
- Recruitment and Retention
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- Education and Training
- Workflow Efficiencies
- Robotics
- HR Tools
Each category has information on what the technology does, what effort is needed to implement the solution, and where to find more information.
In addition, the tool offers discussion prompts to guide team leaders and board members in exploring technology solutions. The prompts explore topics such as how to address costs and find funding, how to decide if the solution fits within the organization’s strategic plan, and how the organization can address digital equity among team members.
Two LeadingAge experts helped develop the tool. Scott Code serves as vice president of LeadingAge CAST, and Jenna Kellerman is director of workforce strategy and development at LeadingAge.
LeadingAge CAST Technology Selection Tools
The Unlocking Workforce Technology Solutions tool is a companion to the 10 LeadingAge CAST Technology Selection Tools, which offer white papers and online tools to help aging services providers choose various technologies. The LeadingAge CAST Selection Tools address Electronic Health Records, Telehealth and Remote Patient Monitoring, Medication Management, Functional Assessment and Activity Monitoring, Shared Care Planning and Coordination, Social Connectedness and Engagement, Safety, Health Information Exchange (HIE), Data Analytics, and Infection Control.
In a recent article, CAST shared another new resource that complements LeadingAge tools. After narrowing down the available selections using the LeadingAge tools, the ICER-PHTI Assessment Framework for Digital Health Technologies helps providers understand the benefits and economic impact of their top candidates.
