Each year, Larry Minnix Leadership Academy Fellows explore several concepts and processes that enable them to uncover their unique leadership gifts, expand their comfort zones, broaden their perspectives, and learn through self-reflection. Action Learning is one of these processes. It provides a structured method for Fellows to apply new ideas, approaches, and strategic thinking that enable them to navigate and advance change more effectively and with greater impact.
The Academy year serves as a “launch year” for fellows to identify and hone the direction of a project that will advance an innovation or improvement within their organizations. Through their Action Learning Projects Fellows champion innovation and person-centered practices, and, in doing so, they learn about themselves as leaders. The intended long-term outcome of Action Learning is for the Fellows to make a meaningful contribution to the field of aging.
From addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion to mental well-being, staff retention, dementia practices, and middle market opportunities, the 2022 Action Learning Projects highlight the many ways this group of Academy alums will be shaping the direction of our field for years to come.
