LeadingAge Need to Know - 1.20.21

We are sharing the very latest with members with weekday morning email updates and live online updates three days. This week, there will be no live online update today. Visit the main coronavirus page anytime.
Following are the latest news and resources.

Vaccination Webinar Tomorrow
LeadingAge members are among the first to get the COVID-19 vaccines for residents and staff. As a result, providers across settings are quickly determining how to handle the legal and operational issues surrounding vaccines and vaccinations. The stakes couldn’t be higher, which is why we’re offering a new learning opportunity tomorrow, January 21 at 2 p.m. ET to help ensure that your community’s vaccine rollout is on track to be effective and efficient. Learn more and register today.

Reaching Out to Displaced Workers
Now’s the time to reach out again to displaced workers! Restaurants and hotel staff have been on irregular schedules for nearly a year, and may be seeking longer term opportunities in older communities. There are a lot of similarities in the fields. Click here for an email template you can use to reach out to your state restaurant or hotel association, or to the restaurants and hotels in your community. And don’t forget, the Aging Services Career Center is still free. Post your open jobs today.

Please Take the LeadingAge Project ECHO Survey
LeadingAge is interested in learning more about member participation (both those who are participating currently and those who are not) in Project ECHO, the guided-practice model that reduces health disparities in under-served and remote areas of the state, nation, and world through innovative telementoring. Please take 2-3 minutes to complete this survey. If you'd like more information about Project ECHO, please contact Janine Finck-Boyle.

Tomorrow’s Online Coronavirus Policy Update

Join us tomorrow to hear from Steve Nash, President and CEO of Stoddard Baptist Home Foundation. Steve will provide his insights on how you can communicate with staff and the public to tackle tough issues like vaccine hesitancy, increasing staff morale, and providing care to underserved communities. Steve uses his gospel-themed radio show and online platforms to talk about the key issues of the day and build trust in the community. We’ll also cover all the policy updates related to the new administration. Register now to join us.
