Celebrating Love in Aging Services: #CareIsLove

Through Sunday, February 14, LeadingAge is celebrating the bonds of love that grow throughout aging services. We are transforming our social accounts into a #CareIsLove celebration. To make it easy to participate, we’re providing customizable social graphics including profile banners and photoframe cards, sample social posts, and op-ed, press advisory and pitch call templates for members. Print out our Valentine’s Day template cards to have residents and staff color and write meaningful messages to each other. Join us in spreading the love this Valentine’s Day.

Mechanical and Electrical Building Systems: Mitigating Infectious Disease Transmission

CDC recommends using a multipronged approach to mitigating COVID-19 risk. For building-based members, this means reviewing your mechanical/HVAC, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. Join us for a live webinar on Wednesday, March 10 to learn how your building can help your team minimize the spread of viruses and bacteria. We’ll share new technologies and review how they can be used to improve construction projects and existing structures. Participants will receive CE credits. Register today.

Shared Learning: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion—A Way Forward

As our society reckons with systemic inequalities, the aging services community has acknowledged the need for change within our field, too. Whether you’re years into a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) journey or just looking for a way to begin this imperative work, you’ll want to attend our March 23 course. Led by Ayana King, who hosted a recent QuickCast about unconscious bias, this live virtual event will include opportunities to share individual stories, explore intersecting identities that impact the lived experiences of team members and residents, and share smart insights to help you build a more equitable and inviting space. Register today.

Last Chance to Take our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Survey

This 5-minute survey is intended to learn what you are doing now and also what you plan to do in the future to achieve greater diversity, equity, and inclusion at your organization. We will use results to develop resources and support for members who are striving to make their organizations more inclusive. Thanks for taking the time to complete the survey. The deadline is today. If you have questions, please contact Natasha Bryant.
