Solving Workforce Challenges During the Coronavirus Pandemic
LeadingAge members need healthy, well-trained staff more than ever. We’re providing tools to support your needs around recruitment, training, and supporting staff during this crisis.

Grow Your Team
LeadingAge wants to help you fill available jobs. We’re partnering with major national employers to drive displaced workers to the more than 1,100 jobs posted by our members on the LeadingAge Aging Services Career Center. Postings are FREE to members. Use coupon STANDTOGETHER at checkout.

We’ve created materials you can use to reach local workers in your community:

Need more recruiting support? LeadingAge’s Center for Workforce Solutions is also collecting recruitment promising practices from members, including ideas for recruiting refugees and staff for non-certified duties. We’re also curating relevant business offers for members, including one free month with MyCNAjobs.com and special packages on background checks with GoodHire.

Train Your Workers
Training is always critical. Accessible and reliable information in the fight against coronavirus is crucial to ensuring the safety and well-being of staff and the older people they serve.

NextStep is still offering staff at LeadingAge members free access to their COVID-Ready Caregiver program. Get the informal online course designed to improve the safety of caregivers of all kinds working with COVID-19 patients in all settings. Use code COVIDCERTNOW at check-out. Offer expires this Friday, April 17.

In addition, HealthcareSource is offering 25+ complimentary COVID-19 related courses, and Rouxbe Online Culinary Training is offering its food safety course for free. Find these offers and more on our Trusted Business Resources page.

Stay on Top of Workforce Policies & Regulations
In past weeks, Congress and federal regulators have announced programs and guidance that can support your coronavirus-related staffing challenges and needs. LeadingAge staff experts are developing essential guidance and tools for members to stay up-to-date.

Congress is developing the next COVID-19 relief package now. LeadingAge is fighting for a range of solutions for members, including support for workforce challenges. Our Action Alert went out yesterday, but it’s not too late to TAKE ACTION NOW! Urge Congress to include these LeadingAge priorities in the next coronavirus legislation.

Support Your Staff
We are collecting stories from members like you to share creative ways to support staff during these unprecedented times. And the LeadingAge LTSS Center @UMass Boston is publishing brief summaries of the latest data and analysis on topics including workforce issues.

We’ve also found some unique business offers to help you support staff, including free shoes for health care workers from CROCS and a COVID-19-related ride request form from Lyft.
