A Message From Our Board Chair

LeadingAge Board Chair, Carol Silver Elliott, offers this message to members about how reunions are impacting our lives in a post-crisis world.

Infrastructure Investments in Aging Communities

Yesterday, the House Democratic Caucus Task Force on Aging & Families hosted a roundtable discussion about the care economy for an aging America. Featured speakers included several members of Congress as well as noted aging experts including Ruth Katz, svp of public policy at LeadingAge. The discussion revolved around critical investments in care infrastructure for aging and disabled communities. Listen to the recording now!

Community Care Corps Request for Proposals

Community Care Corps is accepting Request for Proposals (RFP) for grants to organizations with innovative models in which local volunteers assist family caregivers, older adults, or persons with disabilities with non-medical care in their own homes in order to maintain independence. If your organization is looking for new ways to serve your community, visit www.CommunityCareCorps.org for more information or to view the RFP. Grant applications will be accepted from June 14, 2021 through July 9, 2021.

TODAY: CDC Call on Adult Day Services and COVID Vaccination
Today at 12 p.m. ET, CDC is hosting a call for adult day services centers focused on COVID vaccination and sharing information about the public health aspects of managing adult day service programs, as COVID vaccination rates are increasing. Time will be dedicated to open discussion and Q+A. To participate, you must register in advance on Zoom.

McKnight Prize for Healthcare Outbreak Heroes Awarded

The CDC Foundation and the Evelyn and Thomas McKnight Family Fund for Patient Safety are proud to announce the 2021 McKnight Prize for Healthcare Outbreak Heroes is being awarded to all frontline nursing home staff in the United States for the heroism and bravery exercised during the COVID-19 pandemic. The award recognizes those who serve and protect patients from harm related to healthcare outbreaks.
