What Students Need to Know About the Summer Enrichment Program

  • A Preceptor will be assigned to guide the intern through weekly meetings, as well as be available for advice throughout the internship. 
  • A Mentor (outside of the intern's host site) will be assigned to the intern that will meet with the intern during and after the 10 week internship.
  • A summer project(s) will be assigned to the intern that will benefit the organization and will culminate with a special presentation to key leaders. 
  • The intern will receive access to high-level executives and insight on the decision-making process within the organization. This will include:
    • A meeting with President/CEO (virtual or otherwise)
    • Attendance/participation in department, staff, and board meetings
    • Mentorship opportunities with key leaders within the organization 
  • The intern will be provided access to a workspace and an employee orientation.
  • The intern, preceptor, and mentor will attend virtual LeadingAge Summer Enrichment Program networking events with other interns across the country.
  • The organization will provide a formal performance review upon completion of the internship.
